Amy is an Assistant Professor at the University of Texas Health Science Center, School of Health Information Sciences, Houston. Her research concerns non-verbal dimensions of deceptive communication, also development of language abilities in hearing-impaired children. As part of the Center for Cognitive Informatics and Decision Making at UTH, her research focus is on reducing medical errors and improving care through a better understanding of human thought processes including the dynamics of group and human-computer interactions. Prof. Franklin is collaborating with the McNeill Lab on the NSF funded project, Interactive Deception and its Detection through Multimodal Analysis of Interviewer-Interviewee Dynamics.
